Frequently Asked Questions
Are SKF, NSK, FAG, and Chinese bearings interchangeable?
Yes. Standard 6200/6300/6000 series deep groove ball bearings from all major brands (SKF, NSK, FAG, NTN, KOYO, Timken, and Chinese brands C&U, ZWZ, LYC, HRB) are dimensionally interchangeable per ISO 15:2017. They share the same bore, OD, and width dimensions.
What is L10 bearing life and how do I calculate it?
L10 is the basic ISO 281 rating life: the number of operating hours that 90% of a bearing group will survive under a given load. Formula: L10h = (C/P)³ × 10⁶ / (60 × n), where C is dynamic load rating, P is applied load (both in kN), and n is RPM. Use our Bearing Life Calculator above.
What is the difference between 6200, 6300, and 6000 series?
All are deep groove ball bearings. The 6200 series is the most common general-purpose series. The 6300 series has a heavier cross-section (larger OD and width at the same bore), offering significantly higher load ratings — the 6305 carries 60% more load than the 6205 at the same 25mm bore. The 6000 series is extra-thin, used in space-constrained motors and drives.
What shaft tolerance should I use for bearing mounting?
For a rotating inner ring (most applications), use shaft tolerance k6 for normal loads or m6 for heavy/shock loads. The housing bore is typically H7 for a stationary outer ring. Use our ISO 286 Bearing Fit Calculator for exact deviation values based on your shaft diameter.
What is the minimum order quantity for Chinese bearings?
Typical MOQ for Chinese bearing factories (C&U, ZWZ, LYC, HRB) is 50–100 pieces for standard 6200 series, and 10–50 pieces for larger sizes. FOB prices for 6205 range from $0.70–$1.50/pc depending on factory and volume. Request an exact quote via our RFQ form.
